Overview

Heather has a warm and pragmatic approach that assists clients to move forward from self-limiting patterns of behaviour. She offers a non judgemental environment where concerns are addressed with compassion and respect. She enjoys working with clients to help them develop insight into problems and provide them tools and strategies based on their own individual needs and experiences. 

Heather has a Masters in Counselling Psychology and more than 15 years experience working in a range of clinical settings providing therapy including Child and Youth Mental Health, Ministry for Child and Family Development plus community non-profit counselling agencies. She is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the B.C Association of Clinical Counsellors. She is trained to facilitate parenting groups (STEP) and provides parent coaching. She has extensive experience working with families and individuals experiencing anxiety and depression and grief and loss issues. 

Heather works from a flexible and collaborative framework using CBT, child development theories, Attachment Theory, Connect Parenting and Solution Focused Brief Therapy techniques.

As a working mother Heather is particularly tuned into the challenges of balancing parenting, career, and self-care.
